C19th Blacksmith's Railings

One of our most popular designs, this gate has been re-created by English blacksmiths since the late 1700s. With prominent lyre vertical panels at each end and a repeated roundel pattern along the lock bar, this design is a fine example of complex ironwork.

Because of the strong tradition within blacksmithing this gate sits comfortably in front of many period properties from the 1800s onwards. Round and square sections, rivets, cast iron and straps are all used within the construction and the gate is available in medium to heavyweight.

With hand forged leaves the customer required railing panels to match the gates. A number of patterns were created using motifs from the original gate design.

A pedestrian gate was also needed. The railing panels are hung above a dwarf wall with strong backstays holding the weight firmly.
